Finally this weekend the forecast promised a clear sky. Since I had taken one of my favorite shots during a winter’s sunrise, I wanted to give it another try. I got up 5:30am in the morning and took the train to the Wannsee close to Berlin. Since I had not spotted a location beforehand, I used my bike to check the shore, still in complete darkness with approx. -10 °C. After a while I had found a promising place and started preparing the equipment. That moment I really missed my Pentax K5 – using the Canon with gloves is cumbersome.
It’s always amazing to see a sunrise, to enjoy the silence. And surprising, how fast the light changes. I took a number of pictures of which I’d like to publish five. After approx. an hour I was frozen and headed home.
